I worked here years ago and it is by far the best Behavoral Health Hospitals around. All patients are different. It’s a very clean, friendly, highly qualified center. Great levels of continuing care. Shout out to Kirsten, Amy, Kim, Dr Brilliant, Dr Teas, Mona, Dr Rona, and Dr Agostino.

I liked the share time and art therapy. I was kind of in a fog while admitted. I do know that the staff knew all of our names. They were very compassionate. They were strict and I’m thankful for that. Pulling into that parking lot was the best gift I gave myself. The only negative experience I encountered was with the outpatient therapy. There should be a different way to address ADULTS. I had a classmate/teacher experience from the group therapy/share time which was a little degrading. I felt that one of the counselors, Margaret, approach was a bit harsh and unnecessarily authoritative.

I was admitted for anorexia, bulimia, OCD, depression and PTSD. I spent 4 months here, mostly in the eating disorder therapy though. I enjoyed my case manger Ericka. She was very nice. I’m not recovered, and I do relapse a lot but it was nice to be around people who understood my disorders. I do recommend coming here if you’re in need of help and need direction into the path of recovery. I’ve read a lot of the reviews with people saying this place is terrible but I disagree. It helped me a lot.

Great place for rehab setting but thier therapy and psychiatrists are pretty lack luster. Would be a excellent rehabilitation center as opposed to a inpatient program for mental health. Also, its pretty cold all the time. The staff was very nice.

Wonderful staff. Caring and fantastic. When I came in at first they where tough on me. However that sincerely saved my life . Just remember the staff cares and have to hang in at the beginning. Plus you get a free lunch everyday.

My experience was a phenomenon, my Dr. Taras Dadinko was so interactive realistic and honest about medication and therapy

I participated in the Partial Hospitalization Program at ABBHH for 3 weeks and benefitted significantly from it. In my experience, the staff members I interacted with were professional, compassionate, and challenging (in a positive way). Initially I struggled with their tough love approach, rigid guidelines, and large group lectures and small group therapy sessions that I found to be frustratingly impersonal, but I now appreciate how much this overall approach empowered me to take responsibility for my own health and emotional needs. The staff, especially my small group facilitators Jane and Diane, were supportive and effective in pushing me to figure out how to apply the tools the program presented. PHP, along with individual outpatient therapy after I transitioned out of program, was exactly what I needed to recover and make lasting positive changes in my life. I took off one star because I wish I hadn't been pulled out of sessions for medication management when I was already doing that with my PCP, and there were some communication errors regarding my insurance. Otherwise, I highly recommend this program if you are open to being vulnerable and putting in a LOT of uncomfortable work on yourself.

I've been to many behavioral health/psychiatric hospitals and have dealt with terrible care, not so good conditions and also dangerous or of control situations but I've also been in good hospitals, thank God! Alexian Brothers in Hoffman Estates was the best of the best as far as receiving the most helpful and effective therapy, good psychiatrists and therapists, and the compassion at this hospital was simply amazing. I was and am very blessed to have the opportunity of receiving treatment at this place, it brought back my hope that treatment and recovery are possible. if I never had the opportunity to be helped at this place, I'm almost afraid to even think about where I might be today. Homeless? Completely alone with nowhere to go? in a medical hospital fighting for my life? in the grave? I've been saved, though I will struggle for a while still, I know that I will make it and I'm doing so much better, thank God.
